SsangYong Motor (CEO and President Hyung-tak Choi;www.smotor.com) announced that it is releasing the 3,200cc model of the “Chairman W,” which has been leading the domestic large passenger vehicle market after its release on Wednesday, February 27.

SsangYong Motor has been selling models with a 5,000cc or 3,600cc engine since the vehicle’s release. With the release of the 3,200cc model, the company has created an opportunity to further expand its customer base in the large sedan market.

The trim name for the model with the 3,200cc engine is CW600. It will be available on the market, together with the existing 5,000cc model (trim name: V8 5000) and 3,600cc model (trim name: CW700). A key characteristic of the 3,200cc model is that it offers a greater level of product and price competitiveness compared to its competitor models within a similar price range, based on the premium image of the “Chairman W.”

Starting with the entry level model, the CW600’s standard specifications include high-class convenience and safety specifications that were also applied to the 5,000cc and 3,600cc models. These specifications, which fully incorporate customer needs, include the seven-speed automatic transmission of Mercedes-Benz, Harman-Kardon entertainment system, driver information system, eight-inch GPS device with voice recognition, knee airbag, and touch-sensing smart key. The luxury level model is sold at a price of 51 million won, while the prestige level is offered at price of 54.9 million won.

Managing Director Geun-tak Kim in charge of marketing at SsangYong Motor explained the background for releasing the model, saying, “There has been an increasing level of customer demand for a broader range of engine specifications offered by the Chairman W, in tandem with the vehicle securing a leadership position in the domestic large sedan market. This release of the 3,200cc model will present an opportunity for Chairman W to fully establish itself as the indisputable leader in the large sedan market.”
