SsangYong announces 2021 XLV – the ‘big’ small SUV launch was showcased live on home shopping TV channel in Korea

SsangYong has announced the launch of XLV (*known in Korea as the Tivoli Air), renewed with numerous upgrades, and for the first time in Korea held the launch live on TV on October 7th.

 

“We have been working closely with the E-commerce portals,to come up with an original and impactful way to launch this exciting new car in a COVID-safe non-contact way,” says an SsangYong spokesperson.

 

The 2021 XLV features a highly improved digital interface with advanced driving assist and safety systems. It is powered by a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine, which produces 163ps and a maximum torque of 26.5 kg·m., and matched with an AISIN 6-speed automatic transmission for a relaxed driving experience.

 

The robust front look of the XLV, shared with the Tivoli, is characterised by an integral front bumper with LED fog lamps and flowing character lines over the bonnet, and together with full LED headlights creates an elegant and harmonised appearance.

 

XLV provides a notably roomy and relaxed interior with 720litres (VDA) of cargo space as standard (with seating in position), and when the second row of seats is fully folded, a load length of 1,879mm and 1,440 litres VDA of space that is large enough to take a full size adult bike without removing the wheels.

The vehicle’s infotainment system is particularly notable, and features a 10.25” full-digital instrument cluster and 9” AVN,connected with Apple Carplay and Google Android Auto, allowing drivers to enjoy their preferred content in HD.

 

Latest safety technology comprises CLKA (Centre Lane Keeping Assist), RCTA-I (Rear Cross Traffic Alert Intervention) and EAF (Exit Assist Function), giving an improved safe driving environment. <Ends>
