SsangYong Launch All-New Rexton in UK

SsangYong Motor Company (CEO Johng-sik Choi; launched its flagship SUV all-new Rexton in the United Kingdom shortly after having its European premiere at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Attended by the CEO of SsangYong Motor Company Johng-sik Choi, SsangYong managers, and SsangYong UK representatives, the new Rexton had its debut at the Blenheim Palace in the United Kingdom. SsangYong Motor UK will be the title sponsor of Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials for the next three years.


This year's Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials took place in Oxfordshire which is located near northwestern London, from 13th to 17th September 2017. Blenheim Palace was the final destination of the Rexton Trans Eurasia Trail that flagged off its epic journey of 13,000km from SsangYong's Pyeongtaek Plant in July. With the stunning backdrop of Blenheim Place, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, home of the Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, it has one of the most beautiful settings of any sporting event in the country.


The SsangYong Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials has been running since 1990, and is one of the UK's leading and largest events that attracts over 60,000 visitors each year, as well as the world's leading event riders and many keen amateur competitors.

Blenheim is one of the top international horse trials held in the UK, and perfectly complements the SsangYong brand focus on four-wheel drive and SUVs, vehicles particularly suited to those living in the country or who tow a horse box, caravan or trailer.


Especially, Pippa Funnell, who won the title of the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials for 4 times and won Olympic medals twice, has become a brand ambassador of SsangYong UK.

Journalists showed high expectation the new Rexton presenting a huge step forward in every area compared to the previous generation including exterior looks, interior ambience, structure, safety and performance. Especially, the towing capacity of 3 ton is expected to be a strong selling point for those who enjoy outdoor leisure activities with towing their caravan or boat.
